The staff switch is important for 2 reasons:
- When the switch is OFF the room is not monitored. The switch should always be left on unless a staff member is in the room. Staff turn it off before entering a room which prevents their movements from triggering new calls.
- Turning the switch OFF also cancels any room rule calls coming from the residents’ room. If quickly resetting a room, leave the switch off for at least 5 seconds before turning it back on to ensure any active calls are canceled.
The switch must be turned OFF before staff go in the resident room and turned back ON when they leave. If someone forgets to turn the switch ON after leaving a resident’s room, the system will raise a ‘Staff Switch Off’ alert. (The amount of time before this alert is set by your supervisor.)
Canceling a Staff Switch Off call
To clear a Staff Switch Off call go to the Staff Cancel Switch outside of the room and flip the switch into the ON position.
