Note: These are instructions for the ID version of RoamAlert. If you have the ECO version, you do not need to add the tag to the Vigil software.
- Login to the Vigil Remote software with your username and password.
- Click on RoamAlert Settings
- Complete the upper area of the screen
- ID: Enter the ID number of the RoamAlert tag from the back of the tag
- Area: Select the area that the resident lives in
- Room: Select the room that this resident lives in
- Bed: If there are multiple beds in a room, select the correct bed for your resident.
- Resident: If you have not created a resident in the system, leave this field at the default and enter the resident’s name in the description field.
- Description: Enter the resident’s name here. The text in this field will appear on the pager message. Include the expiry date of the resident’s tag to keep track of it. E.g. John Smith 02 26 to indicate Feb 2026.
- Paging Plan: Select the paging plan that you want the messages to be sent to.
- Click Save
The tag will show in the software under the area you added it:
Test the tag by opening a monitored door while having the tag in your hand. Make sure it alerts on a notification device. Reset the door and place the tag on the resident.
