Adding a Pendant in the Vigil Software

The following instructions are to add a brand new pendant into the Vigil Software. Please see Replacing a Pendant in the Vigil Software if you’re removing an old pendant and replacing it with a new one.

  • Log in to Vigil Remote

 

 

 

 

  • Enter your username and password and click Login
  • From the Main Menu click on Wireless Devices

 

 

 

  • Select Add from the bottom of the screen.

 

  • Follow the instructions on the Add Wireless Device wizard. *Be sure to have the new pendant with the battery in to complete the process. *

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Enter Transmitter ID. The ID will be a combination of letters and numbers found under the battery on the back of the pendant.
  • Select the Call Type as Pendant Call
  • Leave the box beside This is a stationary device: unchecked to give you locations the resident is when they press their pendant. Checking this box will turn off the location messages.
  • Select the Area
  • Select the Room number
  • Select the Bed if applicable
  • In the Name/Description field enter the residents name.
  • Click Next (at any time throughout the wizard, you can click Back or Edit Device if you need to change something.

 

  • Select the Paging Plan you wish to associate with the pendant.
  • *Optional* Check Yes to Enable Cancel Message? if you would like to have a second message sent to the pagers once the call is cancelled at the source. Typically used in communities with low call volume. Otherwise, leave the check mark in No.
  • Review the Paging Message Preview and/or the Cancel Message.
  • Click Next

 

 

 

  • Mini-Pendent Idle Alert Enabled: Select Yes if you want your resident’s pendant monitored for movement. When the system has not sensed movement from a pendant within a 24-hour period, a call will be raised on the Maintenance tab directing you to look at the Mini Pendant Idle Alert report. Once all the pendants on the report have moved, the call will be removed from the Maintenance tab. Otherwise, leave the check mark in No.
  • Click Continue

 

 

 

  • Confirm the pager groups and paging plan by clicking Continue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Test the new pendant by pressing the call area. Confirm the information is correct on the complete set up screen. Click

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Cancel the call on the pendant and Click Finish on the screen to complete the process.
